NOT A MUSLIM BURIAL (by Imtiaz Dharker)

Afterwards, I prefer you burn
my body,
rather than present it
as a feast for worms.
While you’re at it, burn my words,
and mix together all the ashes,
hand and face and page,
ink and ankle-bone,
reduced to grey.

Scatter them in some country
I have never visited,
or better still,
leave them on a train,
travelling
between.

No-one must claim me.
Let them label the remains
Lost Property.
